Professor Wellbody Teaches Good Health to Pacific Science Center Visitors

Pacific Science Center’s permanent exhibit, Professor Wellbody’s Academy of Health & Wellness, showcases how our daily personal choices can positively affect our health and well-being for years to come. Guests are immersed in 7,000 square feet of hands-on inventions, gadgets, activities and experiences that present health as a lifelong process of balancing exercise, diet, proper rest and hygiene. Pedal on a stationary bike to discover how much time it takes to burn off that sugary beverage and snatch your favorite snack off the Food Analyzer’s conveyer belt to discover its nutritional value. Using Professor Wellbody’s Optimizer, Planner and Barrier Feud, children and grown-ups alike can create realistic personal goals that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Timely (SMART). In addition to providing timeless tools for behavior change, the exhibit showcases current health research in the Pacific Northwest region, connecting guests with the scientists doing this groundbreaking work.
